The FortiGate-60ADSL unit includes and internal Asynchronous Digital
Subscriber Line (ADSL) modem and interface. This provides much higher
communication speeds than standard telephone-based modems.
This chapter describes how to configure the ADSL interface on a
FortiGate-60ADSL.
Note: The ADSL interface will only function when using the FortiGate unit in NAT/Route
mode. Changing to Transparent mode will disable the ADSL interface.
This chapter includes the following sections:
Configuring the ADSL interface
Configuring the ADSL interface using the CLI
Adding firewall policies for ADSL connections
The FortiGate-60ADSL supports a number of addressing modes using
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) as well as standard Ethernet frame
protocols. Verify with your ISP which addressing mode they support. They will
also be able to supply the information required to connect using the specific mode
selected.
The FortiGate-60ADSL supports ADSL standards only. There are a number of
ADSL standards, including ADSL2 and ADSL2+. Currently, the FortiGate unit only
supports the ADSL standard.
The FortiGate unit also does not currently support xDSL (VDSL, HDSL, etc.)
You configure the ADSL interface like any other FortiGate physical network
interface.
To configure the ADSL interface, go to System > Network > Interface and select
Edit for the adsl interface.
To configure the ADSL interface, select one of these options. Complete the
following and select Apply.
