Troubleshooting

1. A fter connecting the Switch to a pow er outlet, the LEDs do not turn on.
1. C heck the connection o f the power cord to the TEG-S16Dg/TEG -S24Dg
and the power outlet.
2. C heck that the power outlet is receiving power.
2. W hen I connect a com puter to one o f the ports on the Switch, the
Link/ACT LED turns on, but I am not getting G igabit speeds.
1. C heck the LEDs. If the 100/1000M LED is green, the com puter's
connection speed is 1000Mbps. If the 100/1000M LED is amber, the
com puter's connection speed is 100Mbps. If the 100/1000M LED is off,
the com puter's connection speed is 10M bps or not connected.
2. C heck the Ethernet Cable. Make sure you are using CAT.5e or CAT.6
Ethernet Cables. Som e CAT-5 cables are not rated to run in Gigabit.
3. Make sure th a t you have a G igabit Ethernet A dapter installed on your
computer.
3. A fter I connect m y PCs to the Switch, I am unable to share files.
1. C heck the LEDs on the Switch. Make sure the Link/ACT LED is on.
2. C heck the network cable. The minimum length o f the cable is 1.5 meters
and the maximum length o f the cable is 100 meters.
3. Disable any software firewall program.
4. Verify that you have file sharing enabled. Please contact your O perating
System support for more information.
4. A fter I connect m y PCs to the Switch, I can only get onto the Internet
from one computer.
The Switch w as not designed to share Internet between multiple
com puters. You need to get an Internet router such as the
TW 100-S4W 1CA.
5. W here is the uplink port located on the Switch?
Since all the ports on the Switch are Auto-M DIX, any o f the ports can be
used as an uplink port.
