Installing the Windows OS on a VxFlex Ready Node server

Install the Windows operating system and Hyper-V on a server in a VxFlex Ready Node
system.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have configured the BIOS, as described in
IP address and BIOS
on page 18.
Procedure
1. Open a console to the server.
2. Boot the server by using the DELL Life Cycle Controller feature.
3. During the Windows OS installation, when prompted to select the disk for OS
installation, select the 64 GB SATADOM device.
4. Click Next.
The Windows OS installation starts.
5. Install the VxFlex OS-required prerequisites, such as OpenSSL, as described in
System requirements
6. Install the Hyper-V role and Failover Clustering feature.
7. Change the server name and connect all system computers into one domain.
8. Ensure that you can open an RDP session to the server.
9. Create a failover cluster with all the nodes.
Results
The operating system installation is complete. When setting up a new node, continue
with disk configuration, as described in the following sections.
