5. Models equipped with trim rods: Once the
outboard motor is supported with the tilt
support lever, press the power trim and
tilt switch " " (down) to retract the trim
rods. NOTICE: Be sure to retract the
trim rods completely during mooring.
This protects the rods from marine
growth and corrosion which could
damage the power trim and tilt mecha-
nism.

Procedure for tilting down (power trim
and tilt models)
1. The main switch must be "
power trim and tilt switch on the digital
electronic control to operate.
2. Push the power trim and tilt switch "
(up) until the outboard motor is supported
by the tilt rod and the tilt support lever be-
comes free.
3. Release the tilt support lever.
4. Push the power trim and tilt switch "
(down) to lower the outboard motor to the
desired position.
