    Thank you for purchasing this digital video camera. Everything you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with your digital video camera. Vivitar makes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. NOTE: Your digital video camera needs an SD Memory card (up to 32GB) for normal use.

    Initial Camera Setup After flipping open the LCD Touch Screen and powering the camera ON for the first time, the camera takes you through the Initial Camera Setup. 1) Installing the Batteries Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital camera, according to the polarity shown inside the battery compartment.

If you do not see the SD icon on the display, please check if the card was inserted properly.  Make sure the SD card is not locked (check the lock switch on the side of the SD card). If the SD card is locked this will prevent the camera from saving captured photos to the SD card.

    Main Camera Modes Your camera has different modes for the various camera functions. You can switch modes by pressing the HOME button to the left of the LCD screen. The Home menu is shown on the LCD. Tap Camera, Video, or Playback to change your camera mode. Video Capture Mode Use this mode to capture videos with your digital camera.

    Navigating the Menus You camera includes the following menus:  Home Menus  Camera Mode Menus  Camera Setup Menus You can access and change camera settings by the following methods: 1) Icons on the LCD Touch Screen: While in the Photo, Video, Playback Modes in Preview/Standby: You can toggle between the menu options each time you tap a menu icon that appears on the LCD screen until you see the desired option.

    Camera Options: LED Light, Macro Switch LED Flash Light Option To increase the lighting in dark situations while capturing videos and photos, use the 2 LED Flash Lights on the front of the camera below the lens. LED ON:  Tap the LED icon, located on the bottom left section (above the MENU) of the LCD touch screen. This changes the icon and activates the LED Lights.
  • Page 18 MACRO MODE OFF: To turn the Macro mode OFF slide the Macro Switch on the side of the camera UP to the mountain icon.  The mountain icon will appear on the LCD display. ∞  When Macro mode is off, images can be captured from 1.5m - (infinity).

    Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to capture videos with your digital video camera. When the camera is first powered ON, the camera will be in Video Capture Mode.   • Page 24 White Level Menu Using the White Level feature your camera can adjust to the coloring of the captured images depending on the type of light source in the current environment. Properly adjusting the White Level setting to match your current environment allows the camera to properly balance the colors in the images that are taken with your camera.

Self-Timer Menu The Self-Timer menu allows you to set a delay between the time that the camera’s Shutter button is pressed and the actual capture of the picture.
  • Page 40 Anti-Shake Menu The Anti-Shake feature reduces image corruption that can be caused by movement of the camera while capturing the image. The Anti-Shake Menu Options include: Activates the Anti-Shake feature Disables the Anti-Shake feature 1) Tap MENU to open the Main Menu Screen for the current mode. 2) Tap the Anti-Shake menu icon to open the menu options.

The Anti-Shake option is ‘On’ by default when you start using your camera and assists you in properly focusing the image.  Distance from the camera – The subject’s face must be no further than 8 to 9 feet (3.5 meters) from the camera and the face must cover at least 20% (1 / 5th) of the picture previewed on the LCD screen.
  • Page 42 White Level Menu Using the White Level feature your camera can adjust to the coloring of the captured images depending on the type of light source in the current environment. Properly adjusting the White Level setting to match your current environment allows the camera to properly balance the colors in the images that are taken with your camera.

    Connecting the Digital Video Camera to the HDTV The digital video camera has an HDMI port to use your larger HDTV screen in place of the camera’s LCD screen. On plugging the HDMI Cable (purchased separately) to the digital video camera’s HDMI slot and to the TV, the LCD screen turns blank.
