    Preparing Your Camcorder for Use Important: Before installing the batteries make sure you are not near water and that your hands are dry Open Battery Door Turn and hold the camcorder with the bottom facing up and the battery door facing you as shown in the diagrams below.
  • Page 8 Notes: 1. When opening the battery door, do not hold the LCD screen side, as excessive force may destroy the screen joint. 2. In order to assure water resistance, do not attempt to remove or rip off the Rubber Seal on the inside of battery door.
  • Page 9 Use the battery clip found in the battery compartment to make sure that the battery is sitting firmly and secure. Before closing the battery door, be sure that the rubber seal on the battery door is clean and smooth. Once powering on your camcorder the battery icon will appear on the top left of the LCD screen. Charging the Lithium Battery In order to charge your lithium battery, Make sure the battery is inserted correctly.

Important: It is important that the battery cover be sealed properly before using the camcorder underwater. Inserting an SD Memory Card Important: Before installing the SD Memory card make sure you are not near water and that your hands are dry.
  • Page 11 Locate the SD card slot to the left of the battery compartment. Insert the SD memory card correctly in the direction shown. Press the memory card until you hear a “Click” sound. Note: After you insert an SD memory card, the SD card icon will appear on the top right of the LCD, indicating that your SD memory card has been installed successfully.

    Initial Camcorder Setup When powering the camcorder ON for the first time the camcorder will recommend that you set the Language and Date/Time options before you start using the camcorder. Powering the Camcorder ON Make sure the battery is fully charged before the first use. Make sure an SD card has been inserted into your camcorder.

    Press the OK button to save your choice and for the interface of the camcorder to change to the language you selected. Press the DC/DV mode button to close the menu and press it again to exit the Setup mode function. Setting the Date and Time To set the time and date that will appear on the photos you capture.

    Using Your Digital Camcorder Make sure the batteriy is fully charged before the first use. Powering the camcorder ON Flip open the LCD Panel on the side of the camcorder. The Camcorder will automatically power on. If the camcorder automatically powers off, press the Power button to turn your camcorder ON.

    Note: your digital camcorder also has an Auto Power Off feature that will automatically turn off your camcorder after a specific period of time that your camcorder is left idle. The Auto Power Off settings can be set from the Auto Power Off settings menu. Changing Camcorder Mode Your camcorder has three main modes: DV (Video) Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture videos with your camcorder.

    Scene Menu The Scene Menu allows you to choose scene settings that allow your camcorder to adapt properly to your current environment. Press the OK button to enter the Menu mode. Format Memory Card Menu You can use the Format Memory Card menu to delete all of the content that is currently on your camcorder’s memory card.

    Video Playback Mode When you first turn on the camcorder, the camcorder will be in Video Capture mode by default. Press the Playback button to open the Playback Mode. The playback mode will allow you to review and edit photos and videos that you’ve already taken with you camcorder.

  • Page 48 Multi-Snapshots Menu When enabled, the Multi-Snapshots feature allows you to take three rapid snapshots in a row with a single click of the shutter button. This feature can be effective when trying to capture a particular moment in a sporting event or other scenes with quick movements.
  • Page 49 Image Sharpness Menu You can set the level of sharpness in the images taken with your camcorder. The sharpness level dictates if the edges of objects in the image are more or less distinct. Press the OK button to enter the Menu mode. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the menu item.

When the ISO level is increased, the image sensor in your camcorder will be more sensitive to light and allow you to capture images in lower-light situations.
