Alarms

Using the serial alarm interface
This allows user interfacing of alarm panels to the FBM.
On the Alarm Settings page, the last entry is "ASCII alarm string". This can be up to 50 characters long and be output via a
serial port on each alarm activation – or used to trigger the associated alarm if the string is input to the serial port.
A customised USB to serial port is required to use this add on. Please contact BBV for pricing and availability.
If the text box contains 'Alarm 15' – on alarm 15 trigger, the serial port will output 'Alarm 15' at 9600 Baud.
Equally, should 'Alarm 15' be entered on the serial port, then the associated alarm will activate in the system.
Should you need to include line feeds or carriage returns, this is done by typing '%0A' and '%0D'.
– Therefore, typing 'Custom Alm15 %0A %0D' would place the information on a separate line, giving an output as follows:
Custom Alm09
Custom Alm15
Custom Alm29
26
