Getting started
Lock mode
When you lock your phone using the Phone lock
menu (Menu 9-3-1), you can receive messages
and calls, but you cannot place calls until you
unlock the phone.
For further details about locking and unlocking the
phone, see page 173.
Silent mode
Silent mode disables all sounds, except for the
camera shutter sound, on the phone. This feature is
best used in situations where the phone might
disturb others, such as in a meeting, in a library,
and in a theater.
To enter Silent mode, press and hold the
key
until "Entering silent mode" and the Vibration icon
(
) appears.
To exit and reactive the previous sound settings,
press and hold the
key until "Exit silent mode"
appears. The Vibration icon no longer displays.
