CHECKING THE FRONT BRAKE HOSE
The following procedure applies to all of the brake
hose clamps.
1. Check:
• front brake hose 1
Cracks/damage/wear
2. Check:
• brake hose bracket 2
Loosen
3. Keep the vehicle upright and operate the brake
several times

4. Check:
• brake hoses
Brake fluid leakage
hose.
Refer to "FRONT AND REAR BRAKES" in
chapter 4.
ADJUSTING THE REAR BRAKE PEDAL

WARNING
After adjusting the brake pedal position or free
play, adjust the brake light switch also.
1. Check:
• brake pedal position a
Out of specification
a
Brake pedal position
(top of the rider footrest)
29.0 mm (1.14 in)
2. Adjust:
• brake pedal position
a. Loosen the locknut 1
b. Turn the adjusting bolt 2 to inside or outside
until the specified brake pedal position is
obtained.
Inside
Outside

Replace.

Screw the clamp bolt.

Replace the damage
-->
Adjust.
-->
Brake pedal is raised
Brake pedal is lowered
