Engine Air Cleaner/Filter - Chevrolet 2005 SSR Pickup Owner's Manual

Use the following procedure to remove the engine
cover insert:
1. Using a flat-bladed tool, lift up on the front outboard
edges of the engine cover insert to release the clips.
2. Slide the engine cover insert rearward to release the
insert from the two hooks located at the rear
outboard edges of the insert.
3. Lift off the engine cover insert.
4. To reinstall the insert, reverse the steps.

When to Inspect the Engine
Air Cleaner/Filter
Inspect the air cleaner/filter at the Maintenance II
intervals and replace at the first oil change after
50,000 miles (83 000 km). See Scheduled Maintenance
on page 6-4 for more information. If you are driving in
dusty/dirty conditions, inspect the filter at each engine
oil change.
