3.2.1 How to Specify the Number of Input/Output Points

The number of input points and number of output points for the S-LINK are specified using the MODE
switch.
The number can be selected as shown in the table below.

• No. 1, No. 7 and No. D cannot be used. If they are set, an error (E34: I/O status error) occurs in the
control unit.
• I/O numbers are determined based on the position of the slot used for installation.
• If the MODE switch is changed during the operation, an error occurs in the FPΣ control unit.
• The contents of the settings for No. 9 and No. F are the same (either one may be selected).
