Replacement of the microphone capsule

See chapter 13.15 for the exploded view of the microphone head assembly and chapter 12.4 for the ordering numbers.
Required parts:
Microphone capsule
Capacitor
Microphone cap
9.1

Preparation

Solder on the rear side of the new microphone cartridge careful the capacitor C (7).
9.2

Disassembly

Push the cams of the microphone cap (1) inwards via the slits in the cover housing and remove the cap (1).
(Some cams will break. For this reason order a new microphone cap).
Unhook the tags of the suspension (3) Take the capsule (2) with you fingers and turn the capsule counter
clockwise in order to straighten the wires. (The microphone wires are factory twisted).
Pull the capsule outside the cover housing.
The wires are not long but just long enough to unsolder the wires of the capsule.
When removing the wires with a soldering iron, take care not to damage the cover housing.
9.3

Re-assembly

Remove careful the rubber suspension (3) from the old capsule and fit this on the prepared new capsule.
Take the new capsule and solder the wires on the correct position. (See figure chapter 9.1).
Twist the wires clockwise and put the suspension with capsule (2,3) back inside cover housing.
Hook the 4 suspension tags on the suspension cams in the cover housing.
Mount a new Microphone cap (1).
Note
After re-assembly of the complete unit the microphone sensitivity has to be re-adjusted. See chapter 5
for procedure.
