Maintenance and repair

6.1.1

Preventive maintenance

Regular preventive maintenance is not necessary. Depending on the usage the equipment may need cleaning.
6.1.2

Corrective maintenance

Defective units can be repaired or temporary replaced by a new one. Recommended repair method is to use the
centralized repair procedure (see chapters 1.5 and 1.6). In the spare part lists are the PCB's indicated which could
be also repaired centralized (see chapter 12.1.3). Selections of electro-/ mechanical- and SMD components are
available for workshop repair.
6.2

Workshop repair

6.2.1

Electrical repair

The chapter 7 'Diagnostics and Fault finding' describes how to measure possible defects in circuit sections. Some
common SMD components are available for local workshop repair. The selection is based on field repairs
experience. See the PCB spare parts lists of chapter's 12.2.4 (CPSU) and 12.3.3 (Delegate and Chairman units)
6.2.2

Mechanical repair

A selection of mechanical components is available to replace damaged and wear out parts.
6.2.3

Microphone repair

Only the microphone capsule can be replaced by removing the cap. Read instructions in chapter 9. Other parts
like head and flex stem cannot be repaired. In that case the complete microphone assembly has to be replaced.
Tip:
The microphone head assembly on the metal tube is a screwed fastening (fine tread).
The fixation between flexible part – metal tube – microphone head assembly is done with locktite glue.
To separate the parts use a blow dryer. The microphone assembly has to be unscrewed during the heating.
