1 AUX (auxiliary) INPUT 1 to 4 connectors (XLR
3-pin, female)
These input AES/EBU format digital audio signals (48
kHz sampling frequency).
Using the built-in sampling frequency converter, you
can also input asynchronous AES/EBU digital audio
signals (sampling frequency 48 kHz) or digital audio
signals with a sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz.
2 PGM (program) OUT 1/2, 3/4 connectors (XLR
3-pin, male)
These output AES/EBU format digital audio signals
(48 kHz sampling frequency). The two connectors, 1/2
and 3/4, form a set, providing four audio channels for
connection to a digital VTR or other equipment.
3 MONITOR L, R connectors (XLR 3-pin, male)
Output analog audio signals for audio monitoring.
4 DEVICE CONTROL connectors (D-sub 9-pin,
RS-422A compliant)
Connect to the control signal I/O connectors on VTR,
server, local storage system, and other devices.
Connectors A to D can be used with the standard unit,
and use of connectors E to J requires the optional
BKNE-1030 board.

5 GUI (graphical user interface) connectors (D-
sub 15-pin, Ethernet 10BASE-5 compliant)
Connect to the controlling computer, using a 10BASE-
5/10BASE-T adaptor MAU (Media Attachment Unit)
and 10-BASE-T straight cable via a hub.
Note
If the weight of the cable bears directly on the adaptor
MAU, there may not be a good connection. Support
the cable connected to the adaptor MAU by fixing it to
the rack or other suitable support.
6 RS232C connector (D-sub 9-pin, RS-232C
compliant)
This is not normally connected.
7 GPI (general purpose interface) connector (D-
sub 25-pin)
Connect this to an external device for input and output
of trigger signals. There are four sets of inputs and
four sets of outputs, and the input/output conditions
can be set up by programming.
