    IP address. Motorized Pan/Tilt and Digital Zoom The DCS-5300W has a pan and tilt function that can expand your viewing area to cover a wide 270 angle side-to-side and a 90 mode enables the camera to move 270 through up to 20 preset positions.

    Connections (continued) DC Power Connector The DC power input connector is located on the DCS-5300W Internet Camera’s back panel and is labeled 12VDC with a single socket to supply power to the Internet Camera. I/O Connector The DCS-5300W provides a terminal block with two pairs of connectors situated on the back panel.

    The window in the center of your browser is the camera image window. You should now see a video image and hear the audio over your computer speakers from the DCS-5300W. If you are having problems please consult the FAQ section of this manual (page 127).

    Security At this point it is highly recommended that you click on the Configuration button on the Home screen, and then the Tools tab to bring you to the Admin screen. Enter a password for security purposes. To ensure the highest security and prevent unauthorized use of the Internet Camera, the Administrator has the exclusive privilege to access the System Administration settings to allow users entry and authorize privileges for all users.

    DCS-5300W, follow the steps outlined in the Quick Installation Guide. After you have completed the setup of the DCS-5300W outlined in the Quick Installation Guide you will have an operating camera that has an assigned IP Address. Because you are using a router to share the Internet with one or more PCs, the IP Address assigned to the Internet Camera will be a local IP Address.
  • Page 29 Run your Internet Explorer Web browser. In the address bar, type in the IP Address that was assigned to the Internet Camera by the Installation Wizard. The DCS-5300W Home Page appears with a window displaying live video from the camera. You are able to view this screen from any PC running Internet Explorer on your LAN.

To the right of the image are controls that allow you to pan and tilt the camera. Pan and tilt can also be controlled within the image. Clicking on any part of the image will cause the camera to reposition itself so that the point will be the center of the image.
