17 Troubleshooting

17.1 Troubleshooting the KombiMotor and Battery

Condition
LEDs on Battery
KombiMotor does not
1 LED flashes
run when switched
green.

1 LED glows red.
3 LEDs flash red.
3 LEDs glow red.
4 LEDs flash red.
KombiMotor cuts out
3 LEDs glow red.
during operation.

Cause
Battery has low charge.
Battery too hot or too cold. ► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the socket.
There is a malfunction in
the KombiMotor.
KombiMotor is too hot.
There is a malfunction in
the battery.
No electrical contact
between KombiMotor and
battery.
KombiMotor or battery
damp.
KombiMotor is too hot.
Remedy
► Recharge the battery fully as described in the
instruction manual for the STIHL AL 101, 300, 500
chargers.
► Allow battery to cool down / warm up.
► Pull connecting cable plug out of the socket and
then refit it.
► Switch on the KombiMotor.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use your
KombiMotor and contact your STIHL servicing
dealer for assistance.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the socket.
► Allow the KombiMotor to cool down.
► Pull connecting cable plug out of the socket and
then refit it.
► Switch on the KombiMotor.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use the
battery and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
► Pull connecting cable plug out of the socket and
then refit it.
► If KombiMotor still does not start when switched
on: Clean contacts of connecting cable as
described in the STIHL AR battery's instruction
manual or in the user instructions for the "AP belt
bag with connecting cable".
► Allow the KombiMotor or battery to dry.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the socket.
► Allow the KombiMotor to cool down.
