ASSEMBLING THE CRANKCASE

1. Install:
• bearing
• bearing retainer
• bolt (bearing retainer)
• screw [bearing retainer (crankshaft)] 1
• screw [bearing retainer (drive axle)] 2
NOTE:
• Install the bearing by pressing its outer race
evenly.
• To prevent the screws [bearing retainer
a
(crankshaft)] from becoming loose, flatten
the edge a of each screw into the depres-
sion b using a punch, etc. Be careful not to
damage the hole for the screwdriver in the
b
screw head.

É Left crankcase
2. Apply:
• sealant (Quick Gasket
No. 1215 1
(to the mating surfaces of both case halves)
3. Install:
• dowel pins 2
• O-ring 3

12 Nm (1.2 m · kg, 8.7 ft · lb)
