To lubricate the gearbox:
1
► Remove the screw plug (2).
► If no grease can be seen on the inside of the screw plug,
screw the tube (1) of STIHL gear lubricant into the filler
hole.
► Squeeze no more than 0.2 oz (5 g) of STIHL gear
lubricant into the gearbox.
► Remove the tube of STIHL gear lubricant.
► Insert the screw plug and tighten it down firmly.
NOTICE
Do not completely fill the gearbox with grease.

17.4 Removing and Mounting the Blades

17.4.1 Removing the Blades
WARNING
The blades have many sharp cutting edges. If they contact
your flesh, they will cut you, even if the blades are not
moving. Always wear heavy-duty work gloves when
removing or otherwise handling the blades, @ 6.3.
WARNING
Blades that are damaged or loose may vibrate, crack, break
or come off the unit, which may result in serious or fatal
injury or property damage. Make sure the blades are
properly tightened and in good condition before starting
work, @ 6.5.4.

To remove the blades:
► Shut off the KombiEngine or switch off the KombiMotor

► Position the unit so that you are facing the underside of
► Remove the screw (1) by turning it clockwise.
► Remove the rider plate (2).
► Remove the screws (3) by turning them counterclockwise.
► Remove the bottom blade (4).
► Remove the screws (5) by turning them counterclockwise.
► Remove the top blade (6).
17.4.2 Mounting the Blades
To mount the blades:
► Shut off the KombiEngine or switch off the KombiMotor
