Initial connections
Connect the 12 V DC power supply, the card reader and Request to Exit buttons
if required as per this guide. Ten seconds after power-up, the Tx LED will flash
once per second indicating ATS1170 is operating. The once per second flash
rate is indicating that ATS1170 has gone into offline mode with no connection to
the control panel databus.
Card format and card type
Set DIP switch C to the Off position for Wiegand format and On position for
magnetic stripe format.
For magnetic stripe format, DIP switch B will be in the Off position for ATS type
cards and the On position for Financial Institution cards.
Off-line programming mode
To enter offline programming mode set DIP switch A to the On position. This is
the only way to program cards (Learn Mode) while in offline mode.
Programming cards into the ATS1170 user database in offline mode
Normal door operations will continue when in the programming mode
provided valid card numbers are in the onboard database.
Ensure DIP switch A is set to Off when programming is complete, otherwise
ATS1170 will always be in "Learn Mode" while ATS1170 is offline.
One short beep is sounded by a Wiegand card reader each time a card is
badged, in addition to the number of beeps listed in the programming
instructions. This is because the first beep is generated by the Wiegand card
reader indicating it has read the card.
Adding a card to the onboard user database
Badge the card four times at the card reader to program a card in to the
database.
Note:
No more than a maximum of three seconds is allowed between badges or
else the badging process must start again.
On the first badge:
If the card is not in the ATS1170 onboard user database, seven beeps (error)
will sound, otherwise, two beeps (OK) will sound.
On the second and third badges, two beeps will sound.
On the fourth badge, and if the database is not full:
The card number is entered into the ATS1170 database.
One long beep followed by two short beeps will sound.
If the database is full:
The card number is discarded.
Three long beeps will sound.
