NOTICE
You cannot start the motorcycle
with the side stand extended and
a gear engaged. The engine will
switch itself off if you start it with
the gearbox in neutral and then
engage a gear before retracting
the side stand.
NOTICE
Keep throttle grip closed or turn
it only slightly.
When starting a cold engine
at low ambient temperatures:
disengage the clutch and turn
the throttle grip slightly to open
the throttle.
Set the emergency-off
switch 1 to Operation.
Switch is in operation
mode.
Press the starter button 2.
The engine starts.
Consult the troubleshooting
chart below if the engine re-
fuses to start. ( 118)
Pre-Ride-Check
The instrument cluster runs a
test of the warning and indicator
lights and the display when the
ignition is switched on. This test
is known as the Pre-Ride-Check.
The test is aborted if you start
the engine before it completes.
Phase 1
"General" warning light 1 shows
red.
The indicator lights 2 light up.
The display 3 shows the display
last active.
The rpm redline warning 4 lights
up.
The warning lights 5 light up.
