Troubleshooting

Problem

No power
Check power supply
No function when On/Off Trigger Switch (5) is operated
Have the On/Off Trigger Switch replaced by an authorised GMC
Defective On/Off Trigger Switch

Sanding drum too fine or worn
Fit new sanding drum with coarser grit

Scratches on workpiece after sanding

Continue sanding

Burn marks on workpiece
Use less pressure whilst using the tool. This will also help reduce wear
Too much pressure exerted on to the sander

Vacuum dust extraction system not used in workplace
Fit a dust extraction system
Excessive workplace dust or swarf
Cleaning frequency inadequate
Clean workplace and tool more frequently
Work session too long
Allow tool to cool before continuing
Motor Vents (6) blocked
Vacuum out Motor Vents and allow tool to cool before continuing
Tool hot to the touch
Work surface excessively hot
Allow to cool before continuing
