SEAT RIGIDIZER
NOTE: Check all parts for shipping damage before
using. In case of damage, DO NOT use. Contact Car-
rier/Dealer for further instructions.
SAFETY SUMMARY
The following recommendations are made for the
safe installation and use of the Seat Rigidizer:
WARNING
DO NOT install or use this equipment without first
reading and understanding these instructions. If
you are unable to understand the Warnings, Cau-
tions or Instructions, contact a healthcare pro-
fessional, dealer or technical personnel before
attempting to install this equipment - otherwise,
injury or damage may occur.
Ensure that Seat Rigidizer is properly installed
per instructions. Movement of the Rigidizer
within the cushion may occur causing discom-
fort to the user if not properly installed.
DO NOT use the Seat Rigidizer on a wheelchair
equipped with a rigid seat pan. Use only on
sling seat wheelchairs.
The Seat Rigidizer does not in any way change
the weight limitation of your wheelchair.
INSTALLING THE SEAT RIGIDIZER
(FIGURE 1)
NOTE: To change the depth of the seat rigidizer, refer
to CUSTOMIZING THE SEAT RIGIDIZER in this in-
struction sheet.
1. Remove seat cushion assembly from chair.
2. Open seat cover and remove the foam cushion
from seat cover.
NOTE: DO NOT REMOVE the backing from double-sided
tape until you have marked the placement area on the
foam cushion. Be sure of placement area as the rigidizer
will not re-adhere securely if installed and removed.
3. Position bottom (underside) of the Seat Rigidizer onto
the bottom of the foam cushion to the extreme rear
while centering it on the left and right sides (FIGURE
1).
4. Outline the foam cushion with a marker, pen or pencil
using the Seat Rigidizer as your template to mark the
placement area.
5. After marking placement area, remove the double-
sided tape backing from Seat Rigidizer and install
Rigidizer onto bottom (underside) of foam cushion.

6. Press down firmly to adhere the Seat Rigidizer to the
foam cushion.
7. Re-install foam cushion into the seat cover and secure
seat cover to chair with the hook and loop backing.
