5-2-5. Cleaning the Stationary Heads

Note
Be careful not to damage the surfaces of the heads during cleaning.

. Cleaning cloth : 3-184-527-01
. Cleaning fluid : 9-919-573-01
Procedure
1. Clean the tape running surfaces of the FE head, CTL head and CUE/TC head in the vertical direction
using the cleaning cloth moistened with cleaning fluid.

If magnetic powder or other materials are attached to the head gaps of the FE head, CTL head and
CUE/TC head, an error may occur during recording or playback. Remove any magnetic powder
completely.
2. After cleaning, wipe the stationary heads using a dry cleaning cloth.
