INSTRUCTIONS
As the forerunner in modern cutting chain design, devel-
opment and production, Remington
developing new low-kickback, high performance cutting
chains and guide bars. The bar or chain in this package
meets the reduced kickback requirements of the Ameri-
can National Standards Institute Voluntary Safety Stan-
dard B175.1. This bar or chain is low-kickback when
used on chainsaws for which it is offered (See Package).

WARNING: GUARD AGAINST THE DAN-
GER OF CHAINSAW KICKBACK.
Kickback can lead to dangerous loss of control of the
chainsaw and result in serious injury to the saw operator
or bystanders. Kickback is the sudden backward and/or
upward motion of the chainsaw guide bar occurring
when the saw chain near the nose or the top area of the
guide bar contacts any object, such as another log or
branch, or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw.

    NEVER cut in unsteady positions (off-balance, out- stretched arms, one-handed, over-reaching, on a ladder, or in a tree). ® ALWAYS use Remington low-kickback chain and bar. ALWAYS read the owner’s manual. ALWAYS wear leather gloves, approved eye, ear, head, and face protection.
  • Page 3 DISASSEMBLY Continued 3. Turn chain tensioning screw counter-clockwise to loosen chain (see Figure 1). 4. Remove guide bar nut. 5. Remove sprocket cover (see Figure 1). 6. Rotate guide bar retainer so that it is positioned parallel to guide bar slot (see Figure 2). 7.

    ASSEMBLY Continued 8. If needed, readjust guide bar nut to finger tight only. 9. Tighten chain tensioning screw to attain proper ten- sion (see Saw Chain Tension Adjustment). SAW CHAIN TENSION ADJUSTMENT WARNING: Unplug chain saw from power source before adjusting saw chain tension. WARNING: Cutting edges on chain are sharp.
