The SIPIX SD series is used for the mobile acquisition, processing and (radio)
transmission of data inside and outside hazardous areas. The SIPIX SD series is
mainly used for remote access to e.g. field devices or other service items in a plant.
Further options for remote access to service items:

Via PCS 7 and SIMATIC PDM or PDM as a stand-alone
•
with permanent local SIMATIC PDM installation within a third party process
control system / automation system providing HART, PROFIBUS, Foundation
Fieldbus and MODBUS communication
•
with permanent local SIMATIC PDM installation within a third-party process
control system / automation system that supports the communication protocols
