Setting up a link to the VIATOR USB HART Modem

The VIATOR USB HART modem is used as an interface for the commissioning
and calibration of HART field devices and their data collection. The modem is
Hart-compliant for communication with all HART field devices.
Power supply to the USB HART modem is via the USB port. No external power
supply is needed.
Note

1. Connect the USB HART modem physically to the USB port of the SIPIX SD.
2. Click on the "ViatorCheckBT" icon on the SIPIX SD home screen to check the
Bluetooth connection.
3. Confirm the message "Do you want to allow..." with the "Yes" button.
4. Select the option box for "Disable Port Mapping".
The USB HART modem is displayed in the "Active Com Ports" field.
In this example, the USB HART modem is assigned to port "COM20"
(important for SIMATIC PDM settings).
5. Click the "Check HART Device 0" button to check the connection to the field
device. In the field "HART devices" the field device connected to the BT HART
modem appears.
6. Click on the "Read Primary Variable" button to check the transmission of
values.
