Performing a ring back test
The ring back test helps to confirm: the link with the connected phone, the current ring
cadence and terminal status (for phones that support Caller Identity, also known as CLI).
1 Lift the handset and dial *9#
2 Replace the handset. Your phone should ring until the handset is lifted (or for 30
seconds). If your phone has a caller identity display, the status of the T400 terminal will
be shown.
Making and receiving calls
• To make a call: Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone*. Dial the required number and
then press # to place the call immediately. If you do not dial #, the call will be placed
after three seconds after the last button is pressed. You can adjust the delay period.
* If you hear a series of short tones, the terminal is waiting for you to enter a PIN code.
• To receive a call: When the phone rings, lift the handset and take the call in the normal
way. Hang up to terminate the call.
