Chapter 2. Configuration

After replacing the system board, update the default Vital Product Data (VPD) information and configure the
UEFI settings and HBA boot support for the Lenovo Storage DX8200N (5128) storage system.

Configuration tools

You can use the following configuration tools:
• Lenovo Advanced Setting Utility (ASU)
• IPMItool
Lenovo Advanced Setting Utility
ASU helps you to configure the UEFI settings with the command line.

IPMItool
IPMItool provides a simple command-line interface to Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI)
enabled devices.

Updating the default Vital Product Data information

You can use ASU and IPMItool to update the VPD information.
To change the machine type, use the following commands:
asu64 set SYSTEM_PROD_DATA.SysInfoProdName 5128A1C –host <IMM_HOST_IP> –user <USERID> –password
<PASSW0RD>
asu64 set SYSTEM_PROD_DATA.SysInfoProdIdentifier "Lenovo Storage DX8200N" –host <IMM_HOST_IP> –user
<USERID> –password <PASSW0RD>

In the command lines, <IMM_HOST_IP> represents IMM IP, <USERID> represents IMM user ID, and <PASSW0RD>
represents IMM password.
