2. Replacing the power unit
Service for the power unit
It is replaced with the power unit or the mounted circuit
board PS-640.
Servicing the PS-640 board.
The mounted parts on the PS-640 board are not supplied as
service parts except the fuse.
Therefore, when servicing these parts, the board mounting
the corresponding part needs to be replaced with a new one
pre-mounting the part.
This manual does not provide schematic diagram, board
layout, and mounted parts list, etc. of PS-640 board.
Operation check of power unit
Required jig: AC power cord with connector
One end connects to the AC supply, and the
other to the VH connector of the equipment.

Basic operations of the power unit can be confirmed by the
following procedure:
(1) Remove the upper case of the power unit.
(2) Disconnect the connector CN4014 from the PS-640,
and connect the AC power cord with connector. (Since
the power switch is removed, AC power is input
directly.) For safety, connect the CN4014 side first,
then connect the AC connector, and then switch the
power on.
(3) With the AC power switched on, confirm voltage of
DC output at the following measurement points:
between JW4001 to JW4000 (GND) → 5.3 V to 5.9 V
between CN4150-48 pin to JW4002 (GND) → +14 V
to +16 V
between CN4150-42 pin to JW4002 (GND) → _14 V
to _16 V
If the regulation DC voltage is not achieved, this means
there is a PS-640 board failure. These voltage values are
the unloaded output voltages when power unit's operation
is confirmed as one unit. It differs from the voltage of the
power unit installed on SIU-100.
