WARNING
To reduce the risk of a serious injury due to the
sprayer starting unexpectedly, always shut off the
engine and disconnect the spark plug before
performing any checks or service.
Check everything in the chart before disassembling the sprayer.
PROBLEM

CAUSE
Engine switch not on
Out of gas
Engine oil level low
Spark plug cable disconnected or
spark plug damaged
Oil seepage into combustion
chamber
Easy Spray Control set wrong
Air supply to Easy Spray Control or
gun is not connected
Air compressor not on
Engine RPM too low
Air leak at pump foot valve or
siphon tube elbow
Tip clogged
Insufficient compressor air
Displacement pump rod seized by
dry coating
Connecting rod worn or damaged
Drive housing worn or damaged
Clutch worn or damaged
Pinion assembly worn or damaged
Oil level drops below oil sensor
System has overpressurized, which
opened the Pressure Drain Valve
Air to sprayer or gun stopped
SOLUTION
Turn on engine switch.
Refill gas tank.
Try starting engine. If light on rear of en-
gine glows, replenish oil.
Connect cable on top of engine or replace
spark plug.
Remove spark plug. Pull starter rope 3 or
4 times. Clean and replace plug. Try to
start. Keep sprayer upright to avoid oil
seepage.
Set in SPRAY mode.
Check and tighten connections.
Start compressor.
Increase.
Be sure foot valve is tightened each day.
Be sure seal in elbow is in place and is
not worn or damaged.
Clean tip.
Increase SCFM or compressor size.
System requires a minimum of 30 psi
(0.28 MPa, 2.8 bar) to run.
Service pump. See page 19.
Replace connecting rod. See page 22.
Replace drive housing. See page 23.
Service clutch. See page 26.
Service pinion assembly. See page 24.
Add oil.
Check for plugged tip or hose and correct.
Restart pump.
Check, correct.
