TV Type
You can select the aspect ratio during playback on TV.
Settings
16:9 Select 16:9 to use the wide screen TV mode.
4:3 Select to use the standard 4:3 display aspect ratio.
This function is available when the HD camcorder is connected to a TV.

• HDMI feature can recognise the TV type automatically and adjust the video output resolution and manual
setting is not necessary. So when an HDMI cable is connected, this function is not operated.
Component Out
You can set the component video output to match the TV you have connected.
Settings
The video signals are output in the same format as the recorded file. Use this setting
Auto only when connecting to an HDTV. When "Auto" is selected, an indicator does not
appear on the screen.
The recorded file is output in the 720x576p format. Select it when connecting to an
SD 576p
SD resolution TV that supports progressive scan.
The recorded file is output in the 720x576i format. Select when connecting to an SD
SD 576i
resolution TV that does not support progressive scan.
The OSD indicators for the Component Out setting are displayed only when the component cable is connected.
