Adjustments of the Chroma Key Image

There are two ways of adjusting the output from chroma keying:
automatically, using the auto chroma key function, or manually, making
individual adjustments from the menu. In general the most effective and
time-efficient method is to use the auto chroma key function for the initial
adjustment, and then only if further adjustment is still required, use the
manual facilities.
You can get further control of the output by using video signal adjustments,
masks, transparency adjustment and so forth.
Making Automatic Adjustment – Auto Chroma Key
Use the following procedure.
1
In the chroma key main menu, select F2 (AUTO).
The submenu appears.
The monitor displays the foreground signal only, and a white frame
marking the sample area.
If you are applying color cancel, key mask, or other video processing
adjustments, these processes will be temporarily suspended while the
auto chroma key function is in effect, and restored afterwards.
2
Use the control knobs for F2 to F4 or the wipe positioner to adjust the
sample frame so that it is entirely within the area being used for chroma
keying. (See page 6-11.)
The hue used for chroma keying is derived from the color within the
frame; this should normally be a single uniform color.
3
Press F6 (START).
This starts the auto chroma key function; the chroma key image will
then be displayed on the monitor.
