LOCKING
AND
UNLOCKING
WITH
INSIDE LOCK KNOB
Move the lock knob.
To lock: Push the knob forward.
To unlock: Pull the knob backward.
The sliding doors lock and unlock simulta-
neously via front door locks, power door
lock or wireless remote control depending
on your vehicle's equipment. (For instruc-
tions, see "-Locking and unlocking doors"
on page 14 or "-Front doors" on page 17
in this Section.)
Closing the sliding door with the lock knob
in the lock position will also lock the slid-
ing door. Be careful not to lock your keys
in the vehicle.

CAUTION
• When closing the sliding door, con-
firm
safety of the area around.
Keep the heads, hands and other
parts of the bodies of all occupants
away from the sliding door. Other-
wise, the closing door may cause
an unexpected serious injury.
• When the vehicle is stopped on a
gradient, the door will slide faster
when opening or closing, so be es-
pecially careful that the passengers
do not get hit or pinched by the
door.
• When the vehicle is stopped on a
downward slope, open the door ful-
ly while passengers are getting on
or off. Do not pUll the outside han-
dle or push door handle while the
door is open. The door could sud-
denly close by itself causing injury.
• Before driving, be sure that the
doors are closed and locked, espe-
cially when small children are in
the vehicle. Along with the proper
use of seat belts, locking the doors
helps prevent the passengers from
being thrown out from the vehicle
during an accident. It also helps
prevent
the
doors
from
being
opened unintentionally.
NOTICE
Do not close the sliding door by ap-
plying the brakes. Doing so could
cause the door to be damaged.
