Supplemental Restraint System —
Seat Belts, Emergency Tensioning
Retractor
Your vehicle is equipped with seat
belts fo r all seats and em ergency te n ­
sioning retractors fo r fro n t seats. The
tensioning retractors are located in
each b e lt's inertia reel and become
operationally ready with the key in
steering lock position " 1" or " 2".
Warning system:
The indicator is illuminated fo r
4 — 8 seconds after turning the steer­
ing lock key to position " 2 " . If the
seat belt of the driver's seat is not
fastened a warning buzzer sounds
simultaneously.
Fastening:
Pull belt with latch plate (1) over
shoulder and lap. Do not tw ist the
belt doing this.
Push latch plate (1) into buckle (2)
until it clicks.
The belt must be pulled snug and
checked fo r snugness immediately
after engaging it and during driv­
ing. If necessary, tighten the lap
portion to a snug fit by pulling
shoulder portion up.

U nfastening:
Push in the red button (3) in the
belt buckle.
The re tra cto r should com pletely
rewind the belt and latch plate (1).
Operation:
The inertia reel stops the belt from
unwinding during sudden vehicle
stops or when quickly pulling on the
belt.
The locking function of the reel may
be checked by quickly pulling out the
belt.
