We recommend rinsing the tank every day. Never use solvents, alcohol,
harsh substances to dry the machine components, and never place
them in an oven. Wash the components (except the electrical ones)
with cold/lukewarm water and non-abrasive cloths/sponges.
CLEANING THE DISPENSING SPOUT
Carry out the MANUAL COFFEE BREWING
without inserting the pod.
CLEANING THE POD DRAWER
Empty and clean the used pod drawer every two/three days or after
brewing 10 cups of coff ee.
1 Remove the used pod drawer and
the cup holder grill.
Remove the top drawer, take out the used

pods and drain the drip tray tank.
Clean and dry both parts before putting
them back.
Check periodically that the pod drawer is not full so as to avoid mal-
functioning and damages to the machine.
DESCALING
Limescale builds up with the use of the appliance; the machine needs
descaling every 3-4 months and/or whenever a reduction in water
fl ow is noticed.
In case of confl ict, priority must be given to what is indicated in the
operation and maintenance manual over the instructions provided on
separately sold accessories and materials.
Use the Saeco descaling product only. Its formula has been
designed to ensure better machine performance and op-
eration for its whole operating life. If correctly used, it also
avoids alterations in the brewed product. The descaling so-
lution is to be disposed of according to the manufacturer's
instructions and/or regulations in force in the country of use.
Note: If the optional water fi lter is used, REMOVE IT BEFORE
DESCALING.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Never drink the descaling solution or any products dispensed until
the cycle has been carried out to the end. Never use vinegar as a
descaling solution.
1 Remove and empty the water tank.
Pour HALF the content of the Saeco concentrated descaling solution

into the water tank, and then fi ll it with fresh water up to the MAX
level.

3 Reposition the tank in its housing in the machine, up to its limit stop.
Turn on the machine and place a container with min. 300 ml capacity

under the dispensing spout.
5 Pull the loading lever forwards until it stops and without inserting
the pod.
6 Press the coff ee brew switch and dispense 2 cups of water (about 150
ml each). Then, turn off the machine.
