BREWING COFFEE

Coffee preparation

Before brewing a coffee, check that the On/Off button
and beverage buttons are constantly lit and that
there is enough water in the tank.
Never insert fingers or any other objects into the
capsule compartment. Single-dose capsules brew a
single coffee. DO NOT use capsules more than once.
When preparing an espresso or caffè crema, the machine
performs a prebrewing cycle.
There is an audible pause in the brewing process between the
prebrewing and brewing cycles.
We recommend emptying the used capsule tray
every day. Before inserting a capsule, make sure that
the used capsule drawer is not full.
Tip to get the best espresso from your Cafissimo Latte:
If the machine has not been used for a while and/or
the cup is cold, place the cup below the spout and press the
espresso button without inserting a capsule. This will warm
up the cup and the machine. Then empty the cup and proceed
with the instructions from step 1 below.

1- Place a small cup, large cup or glass underneath the coffee
dispensing spout as indicated in paragraph "Adjusting the
dispensing height".
2- Lift the capsule compartment opening lever (Fig.1).
3- Insert the capsule as shown in the figure (Fig.2).
4- Lower the lever to close the capsule compartment (Fig.3).
If the compartment does not close easily, check that
the capsule is correctly inserted and that the used
capsule drawer is not full.
5- Press the
(white) button for an espresso, the
button for a caffè crema or the
coffee.
6- Coffee brewing stops automatically when the set level is
reached. However, it is possible to stop the dispensing pro-
cess early by pressing the same button as the beverage being
dispensed.
7- Lift the lever to eject the used capsule into the used capsule
drawer.
8- Remove the cup, mug or glass from the grille.
With every coffee brewing a small amount of rest
water runs into the dip tray. Therefore, empty the
dip tray regularly.
If the machine stops during the brewing process and
the service indicator light slowly flashes orange,
there is no more water in the water tank. Proceed as follows:
fill the tank with water and push the button of the drink that
was being dispensed. As soon as the desired quantity has been
reached, stop dispensing by pressing the beverage button
again.

Adjusting the coffee quantity

Each capsule is portioned for one cup of filter coffee, caffè crema or
espresso and optimally adjusted as regards flavour.
The machine allows you to adjust the amount of brewed coffee
according to your taste and the size of your cup/mug/glass.
Each time the Espresso
buttons are pressed, the machine brews a preset amount of coffee.
