directory is the position of the file in a
CAT ALL

returns a null string. The
root directory is number O.

returns a catalog that identifies when the electronic disc was
last initialized, since the root directory is only created at that time. The format of the returned string is
the same as the HP-75's
OiT$(
number)
function, except that the tenth character of the
::·::CAT$
string
has the level of the file or directory (note that directories also have the level in the length field at
character 1 7).
