3) Logging off and disconnecting the TrekStor DataStation from the computer
Logging off and disconnecting a DataStation connected via USB from the computer
Windows® Vista/XP/2000: At the bottom right on the task bar, left-click on the icon "s
H
". In the context menu that appears, left-click on "s
ArDwAre
select it. This removes the DataStation from the operating system of your computer. You can now
disconnect the DataStation from your PC.
Mac® OS X: You need to remove the drive from the Desktop before you disconnect it or turn it off. Click
on the relevant drive icon, and drag it to the trash icon.
Note: Please follow the recommended logoff procedure to prevent damage to the device or data loss.

Disconnecting a DataStation connected via eSATA from the computer
Your DataStation with eSATA port is hot-plug-compatible. The disconnection of an external hard disk

connected by eSATA from a running computer may lead to data loss if data has not yet been written to
the hard disk. For this reason, make sure that all data has been successfully saved before you disconnect
the DataStation from your computer.

First remove the mini USB-A plug used for the power supply from the USB 2.0 port of your
DataStation and then both USB-A plugs from the USB ports of the computer.
b) Now disconnect the eSATA connection of the DataStation to the computer.
