Introduction
• Mostof the functions coveredin this chapter applyto
DVD discs,VideoCDsand CDs,although the exact
operation ofsome variesslightly with the kind ofdisc
loaded.
• When playing DVDdiscs,if the I_ or _ icon
appears on-screen when you try and use a particular
function, either the playeror the discdoesn't allow the
use of that function.
• When playing VideoCDs,some of the funclions are
not available in PBCmode. Youca switehPBCoffby
starting playbackusing a number bulton 1oselecta
track, ralher lhan the !_/I! button.
Finding what you want on a disc
You can directly accessanypointon a discusingoneof
thesearchmodes. U sethesesearchmodes whilea discis
playing,orwhenit'sstopped_playbackimmediately
startsfromlhepointspecified.
Press SEARCH (SHIFT & 3) (remote only)
to choose between:
• Title search (D\q)only)
• Chapter/l_'acksearch
• Time search (DVD and \_ideoCDonly)
•Off
Enter the
title/chapter/track
number or
time (minutes & seconds).
For exaple, for title 4, press4.
For ch?ler/track 12,press 1 , 2.
For 45 minutes into lhe disc,
press4, S, O, O.
Press I_/II to start/restart playback.
Switching camera angles

To switch the camera angle, press ANGLE
(SHIFT & 4).

Switching subtitles
Many DVD discs have subtitles in one or more lan-
guages file discbox will usually tell you which
subtitle laguages are available. Youca switehsubtitle
language awtime during playback.
To display/switch the subtitle language,
press SUBTITLE repeatedly.
To switch off subtitles, press SUBTITLE
then CLEAR.

Switching audio language _)
When playing a D\q)discrecordedwith dialog in two or
morn languages, you ca switchaudio language
anytime during playback.
To display the current audio language,
press AUDIO.
To switch the audio language, press
AUDIO repeatedly.

Switching audio channel
Whenplayinga CDorVideo CD,youca switch between
thestereosoundtrack, j ustlhe leflchannel,or justthe
right.
