6 Cleaning the filter elements

6.1 Cleaning the filter elements
The filter elements can get dirty during
prolonged use. Therefore, it is important to
check the filter elements regularly and clean
them if necessary.
If you see that a filter insert is damaged,
replace
it
immediately
"Accessories and spare parts").
To check and clean the filter elements,
proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Empty the dust container and remove the
3-piece
filter
insert,
"Emptying the dust container", steps 1-5.
3. Hold the 3-piece filter insert low over a
dustbin.
4. First, firmly pull the filter sieve off the
central lamellae filter (Fig. 9/a).
5. Then pull the filter fleece off the central
lamellae filter (Fig. 9/b)

6. Tap the dust out of the filter elements and
remove coarse dirt by hand.
7. If this is insufficient to clean the central
lamellae filter, use a soft brush (e.g. the
supplied furniture brush) to remove
residual dirt.
8. If this is still insufficient, rinse all 3 filter
elements thoroughly under cold or hand-
warm running water.
9. Let the filter elements dry for approx 24
hours at room temperature after cleaning
them with water. Only put them back into
the appliance ( Chapter 6.2, "Refitting
the filter elements") when they are
completely dry.

6.2 Refitting the filter elements

ATTENTION:
Never operate the appliance without all filter
elements correctly fitted inside the dust
container. Otherwise, the motor might be
damaged.
1. Put the filter fleece back onto the central
lamellae filter (Fig. 10/a).
2. Now put the filter sieve onto the central
lamellae filter with the fitted filter fleece
(Fig. 10/b). Press firmly to do this. You will
feel and hear the filter sieve snap into
place.

3. Make sure that the elements are securely
fastened to each other.
4. Put the 3-piece filter insert back into the
dust container (Fig. 11).

NOTE:
The 3-piece filter insert is designed so that
it only fits in the correct position.
5. Put the dust container back onto the motor
unit ( Chapter 5.2, "Cleaning the dust
container" steps 4-5).
