SDCM Server Hardware Kit Overview
To run SDCM software, you must obtain and install the SDCM Server Hardware Kit. The
SDCM Server Hardware Kit consists of a laptop computer, pre-loaded with SDCM
software. In addition, the kit includes all the necessary hardware components required to
manage the SAN Director 64 via SDCM. These components ship pre-assembled on an
adjustable rack-mount shelf, except for the laptop computer. Refer to the "Install the
SDCM Server Hardware Kit in a Rack" section for complete installation instructions.
SDCM Software Kit Components
The SDCM Software Kit ships with the SDCM Server Hardware Kit, and includes the
following items.
SDCM Server Restore/Boot CD
SDCM Management Applications CD
SDCM Software License Agreement
Warranty
Software Release Notice
SDCM Server Hardware Kit Components
The following components comprise the SDCM Server Hardware Kit. See
NOTE: The SDCM Server Hardware Kit uses velcro to secure the laptop and Zip drive in the
shelf. To ensure that components do not shift, do not remove the velcro.
Laptop with preloaded SDCM software
Laptop AC adapter and adapter power cord
Zip drive with data cable, AC adapter and power cord
Two power cords
Two power adapter cables
Management server slide out shelf (universal), with mounting hardware
Two 100-MB blank Zip disks
Zip disk software pack
