Transmission speeds supported

The transmission speed is set with the SIMATIC STEP 7 configuration software. For the
permitted values, refer to Table 7-1 in Section 7 (Page 35)

Remember the cable length
The permitted cable length must be kept to depending on the transmission speed. Refer to
the information in /4/ (Page 42)

Characteristic data of the DP interface

General characteristic data
No special program blocks are required for DP mode. The interfacing to the distributed I/O is
by direct I/O access or using program blocks (SFCs/SFBs) of the CPU (see /4/ (Page 42)).
