Wet Use
Your Ladyshave & Care can also be used in the shower (fig. 8).
If you shave wet, we advise you to use soap or shaving foam for your
personal comfort.
Cleaning
- After using your Ladyshave & Care with the shaving balm, clean the appliance
with warm water. Avoid damaging the shaving head: do not exert any
pressure on it (fig. 9).
- Do not forget to take off the shaving head, to clean the cutter with water
and the brush (fig. 10).
- Do not use alcohol, acetone, gasoline, abrasives, etc. for cleaning the plastic
parts.
- Remove the mains plug from the wall socket, before cleaning the charging
unit.
- You can use a moist cloth for cleaning. Make sure that your hands are dry
when you insert the mains plug into the wall socket again.
Maintenance and replacement
Spread a drop of sewing machine oil onto the shaving head and the
trimmer twice a year, (fig. 11).
Shaving head (see illustration on the back of right-hand fold-out page): To
maintain the best shaving results, we advise you to replace the shaving
head every 6 months if you use your appliance one or more times a
week. A worn-out or damaged shaving head should be replaced right
away. Use only the original Philips Ladyshave & Care shaving heads.
Caring Shaving Balm: The Caring Shaving Balm can also be bought sepa-
rately (typenumber HP 6020). If you cannot obtain these products
from your local shop, please contact the Philips Service Centre or the
Consumer Help Desk. For telephone numbers please see the worldwi-

Environment
Note: The built-in rechargeable battery contains substances which may pol-
lute the environment.
When discarding your appliance in due course, please remove the
built-in rechargeable battery and dispose of it properly (see pictures):
- Take the appliance out of the charge unit.
- Let the shaver run, until the battery is empty.
- Remove the bottom section (fig. 12).
- Use a screwdriver to loosen the battery (fig. 13).
- Do not attempt to replace the battery.
- Do not replace the appliance into the charge unit after you have
removed the battery.
- Put the battery into a box for chemical waste (fig. 14).
- Put the motor and other metal parts into the metal recycling box.
- If necessary, you can contact your local government offices for advice
on the services available to you.
The mains cord of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged,
the appliance should be discarded.
