Major functions updated with V1.45
CBK-DCB01 Demand Converter Box
Focus/zoom operation from commercially available focus
demand/zoom demand devices is available through the CBK-
DCB01 Demand Converter Box (optional).
• Supported demand devices
Canon Focus Demand FR-35 or equivalent, Zoom Demand ZSD-
15M II
FUJIFILM Focus Demand EPD-21A-A01, Zoom Demand ERD-
20A-A02
• Recording start/stop is also possible with the REC switch on the
demand device connected to the CBK-DCB01.
• Sony RM-B170 or RM-B750 Remote Control Unit can be
connected to the CBK-DCB01.
Restrictions
• When the CBK-DCB01 is connected to the camcorder, the
operation of the PUSH AF button and FOCUS AUTO/MANUAL
switch on the lens, and zoom operation with assignable buttons
on this camcorder are not possible.
• In addition to the above restriction, the following controls on
the camcorder become inoperative when a remote control unit
is connected to the CBK-DCB01: GAIN switch, WHITE BAL switch,
AUTO W/B BAL switch, SHUTTER switch and OUTPUT switch.
• For details, refer to the Operating Instructions supplied with the
CBK-DCB01.
Multi matrix correction function
The multi matrix correction function allows you to set the hue
and saturation of a target color together as a preset.
• The PAINT >Multi Matrix >menu item allows you to execute
preset.
Overwrite protection for read-only files
Protects read-only files from being overwritten when they are
saved. When files are saved by the menu items under FILE (listed
below), read-only files are displayed grayed out, and are not
selectable.

Camera adaptor
CA-FB70 and CA-TX70 are supported.

Usable media
XQD memory card series added (with XQD ExpressCard Adapter
QDA-EX1)
Restrictions
• For restoration of media recorded with this unit, be sure to use
this unit. Media recorded with a device other than this unit or
with another unit of different version (even of the same model)
may not be restored using this unit.
• High-speed playback may not be properly achieved.
• Slow Motion recording by the Slow & Quick Motion recording
function cannot be made.
• Not all XQD memory cards are guaranteed to work with this
camcorder. For compatible memory cards, contact your Sony
dealer.
Rec Start/Stop Beep function
A beep sound can be generated automatically at start and stop
of recording.
• The MAINTENANCE >Camera Config >Rec Start/Stop Beep
menu item allows you to turn this function On and Off.
Indication of recording status
An animation can be displayed on the viewfinder to indicate that
recording is being performed.
• The MAINTENANCE >Camera Config >Rec Status Indicator
menu item allows you to turn this function On and Off.
• The OPERATION >Super Impose >Super(Rec Status Indicator)
menu item allows you to select whether or not to superimpose
the recording status indication on the video output.
RM-B170
The unit supports the remote control unit RM-B170.
ATW offset adjustment
It is possible to set an offset to add to ATW by specifying the
color temperature.
• The OPERATION >Offset White >Offset White <ATW> menu
item allows you to turn this function On and Off.
• The OPERATION >Offset White >Warm Cool <ATW> menu item
allows you to specify the color temperature (in the rage 1600K
to 16000K).

Clip names
User-specified characters can be displayed (MP4/AVI).
Planning metadata
Shooting with planning metadata is possible.
• Planning metadata can be read from recording media inserted
into a memory card slot.
• The planning metadata to be read can be selected.
• Clip names based on names defined in planning metadata can
be specified.
• Clip names can be specified in languages other than English.
• More shot marks can be added.
• Shot mark names can be specified in languages other than
English.
• Shooting information can be reflected in planning metadata.
• Information contained in planning metadata can be viewed.
DWR-S01D
Data from the DWR-S01D Digital Wireless Receiver can be
recorded as metadata.
Color bars
SMPTE color bar can be selected.
Lens diaphragm adjustment
The lens diaphragm was sometimes slow to close completely, so
that auto black balance did not end normally. That problem was
corrected.
Picture cache recording
When recording was performed in picture cache mode (picture
cache time: 13 to 15 seconds) with i.LINK output, the cache data
in memory was sometimes not recorded. That problem was
corrected.
