Quick-Start

Connecting the Multiport Adapter to the EXT and Other Devices

Connections to and from the Multiport Adapter are listed in the table below and
illustrated in the front-panel and rear-panel views which follow it.
Steps
1 Connect the RF input of
the Multiport Adapter.
2 Connect the RF output of
the Multiport Adapter.
3 Connect the GPS Input
of the Multiport Adapter.
4 Connect the USB
interface of the Multiport
Adapter.
5 Connect the Trigger ports
of the Multiport Adapter.
NOTE:

Actions
With power still OFF to the
Test Set and the Multiport
adapter, connect the RF
OUT port on the front panel
of the EXT to the RF IN
port on the front panel of
the Multiport Adapter.
Connect the RF IN port on
the front panel of the EXT
to the RF OUT port on the
front panel of the Multiport
Adapter.
Connect the RF I/O 1 or RF
I/O 2 port on the front panel
of the EXT to the GPS IN
port on the front panel of
the Multiport Adapter.
Connect one of the USB
ports on the rear panel (or
front panel) of the EXT to
the USB port on the rear
panel of the Multiport
Adapter.
Connect the TRIGGER 1
OUT port on the rear panel
of the EXT to the TRIG 1
port on the rear panel of the
Multiport Adapter.
Connect the TRIGGER 2
OUT port on the rear panel
of the EXT to the TRIG 2
port on the rear panel of the
Multiport Adapter.
No cables should be
connected to any of the eight
RFIO ports on the front panel
of the Multiport Adapter at
this time.
Notes
Use one of the three supplied RF cables.
Use one of the three supplied RF cables.

Use the supplied USB cable.
The TRIG OUT connector on the rear panel of the
E6617A is not currently used.
The RFIO ports should not have any cables connected
to them until after completion of the alignment
procedure described in
"Performing a Multiport
Adapter Preamp Alignment"
