PROBABLE CAUSE
Oil Pressure Falls Below 25 psig
(1.7 bar) While Package is Running
Because:
Oil Temperature Too Low
Sump Oil Level Too Low
Sump Strainer Clogged
P3 and/or dP Transducer at Fault
LP Inlet Air Temperature Above
115_F (46_C)
High Interstage Pressure (Loaded)
Cooling Fan Motor Starter Overloads
Temperature Transducer Failure
Blowdown Valve Failed to Open
or Operated Sluggishly
Intercooler Core Fouled
Discharge Check Valve Leaking
During Unloaded Operation
Inlet Throttling Valve Not Fully Open
During Loaded Operation
Inlet Air Filter Clogged
Line Pressure is Too High
Temperature Transducer Failure
Blowdown Valve Failed to Open
or Operated Sluggishly
Defective HP Stage
Pressure Transducer Failure
Blowdown Valve Failed to Open
Limit Switch Controlling Blowdown
Valve Failed to Operate
Control Air Filter Clogged
REMEDY
Check state of globe valve feeding
oil cooler. In cold ambient envi---
ronments below 40_F (4_C) sump
heating may be required.
Replenish oil level.
Refer to Section 7.7.5 for oil sump strainer
maintenance.
Check connection from
transducer. If adequate, replace
transducer.
Maintain inlet air temperature below
115_F (46_C).
Insufficient oil flow to jackets.
Air flow to intercooler.
Defective HP stage.
Reset after heater elements cool
tripped down. Should trouble persist,
check whether motor starter
contacts are functioning
properly.
Check connections from transducer
If adequate, replace transducer.
Refer to Component Manual for valve
maintenance.
Clean finning.
Refer to compressor's Operators Manual
for check valve maintenance.
See inlet valve adjustment.
Low oil pressure defective control
solenoid valve.
Refer to compressor's Operators
Manual
for filter maintenance.
Reset Supervisor unload pressure.
Check connection from trans---
ducer. If adequate, replace
transducer.
