4. Press the Enter button. The display shows Status Sheet.
5. Press the Enter button again. The message on the LCD panel
starts flashing and the printer starts printing a status sheet.
6. Check that the printer has printed the status sheet clearly and
that information on the options installed in the printer is
correct. If the printer properly recognizes an installed option,
the option's name appears under Other Options.
If the printer cannot print a status sheet, or if you are unable to
get the printer to print a correct status sheet, contact your dealer.

Connecting the Printer to the Computer

To connect your computer to the printer's built-in parallel
interface, you need a shielded, twisted-pair parallel interface
cable that is IEEE-1284 compatible.
Your printer also has room for an optional Type-B interface
connector. See "Optional Interfaces" on page 26 for more
information.
Follow these steps to connect the printer to your computer using
the parallel interface:
1. Make sure both the printer and the computer are off.
2. Connect the parallel cable to the parallel connector, and
secure the connector to the printer by squeezing the wire clips
together until they lock into place on both sides of the
connector.
