Plug and Play
Generally, a reference to the ability of a computer to automatically configure the
system for communication with peripheral devices (for example monitors, modems
or printers). The user can plug in a peripheral and "play" it at once without
manually configuring the system. The Plug and Play PC requires both a BIOS that
supports Plug and Play and a corresponding expansion card.
PROFIBUS
Bus system based on the PROFIBUS standard. Components of the SIMATIC S5
and S7 series (programming devices, programmable logic controllers,
programmable control systems, distributed I/Os) can be networked using
PROFIBUS.
Programmable Logic Controller System
The programmable logic controllers (PLC) of the SIMATIC S5 system consist of
one or more CPUs and various I/O modules. The PLCs of the SIMATIC S7 system
(for example, S7-200, S7-300, S7-400) consist of one or more CPUs and various
I/O modules.
Programmable Controller (AS)
This programmable controller (PLC) consists of the central unit, a CPU and of
diverse I/O modules.

RAM
RAM (Random Access Memory) is a volatile read/write memory in which every
memory location can be addressed individually and its contents changed. RAM is
used to store data and programs.
Recovery CD
Contains the DOS tools for setting up harddisks and the Windows operating
system.
Restart
Warm start of a computer in operate state without switching off the power supply
(Ctrl + Alt + Del).
