| DUO SALON
The higher power levels 3, 4 and 5 operate in Single Pulse mode, where each individual
area is treated with a single pulse before moving the treatment head onto the next area.
Whilst each treatment may take a little longer to carry out in Single Pulse Mode, the
higher energy settings provide a very effective result, so less repeat treatments may be
required.
Choosing the right treatment mode and power level for you is very important and will
depend on your skin colour and sensitivity. Carrying out a patch test will help establish
this safely. We cannot recommend any treatments be carried out before a patch test has
been done and 48 hours have passed before the test area is assessed.
What is Active Cooling?
Duo Salon's Active Cooling feature uses the same Peltier Cell technology as
professional salon devices. The crystal glass treatment window is actively
cooled for a safer, more comfortable treatment at higher power levels. The
Active Cooling feature comes on automatically when Duo Salon is switched on, and is
indicated by the snow flake icon glowing blue. It is automatically controlled for optimum
cooling on each power level.
Suitable hair/skin colour
Duo Salon is suitable for skin types I to V and for dark blond through to black hair.
Note: Very light colour hair will not have sufficient pigment to direct the IPL energy to the
root of the hair and treatment will not be effective.
Very dark skin (type VI) should not be treated as too much heat is retained by the pigment
in the skin, making adverse reactions & potential skin damage much more likely.
What to expect during treatment
Most people experience a temporary warmth or slight stinging sensation during
treatment, which can be likened to an elastic band being snapped on the skin. This
sensation is normal and a sign that the treatment is effective. It usually fades within an
hour of the treatment finishing. There may also be a smell of singed hair. This is also
normal and a sign that treatment is effective.
Anything beyond minor discomfort is not normal and you should stop treatment and
reassess suitability according to the advice in this user manual.
What to Expect After Treatment
Most people will experience some reddening of the skin which will usually fade within 24
hours. See 'Aftercare' section below for advice on soothing the skin during this period.
If reddening hasn't subsided after 3-4 days then it is recommended to consult a medical
professional.
