Mower Deck V-Belts
Mower deck V-Belts should be checked every 100 hours
of usage and more often under heavy usage.
Inspect belts for severe cracking and large nicks.
NOTE: Belts will show small cracks under normal oper-
ation.

Mower Deck Belt Removal

Outer Nut
1. Park the Zero Turn Mower on a flat level surface and
set the parking brake.
2. Lower the deck to its lowest cutting position.
3. Remove the foot plate and outer belt shields.
4. Let the tension off the Belt Tension Idler Pulley by
backing off the outer nut on the Tension Rod until the
belt has enough slack to be removed from the pulleys.
5. Remove the belt from the deck pulleys.
6. At the rear of the Zero Turn Mower remove the belt
from the clutch pulley. Then remove the belt from
under the Zero Turn Mower.

Mower Deck Belt Installation

Belt Tension
Idler Pulley
For further reference, there is a Decal (Belt Installa-
tion Diagram) applied to the Deck.
1. Place the belt on the deck pulleys as illustrated above.
2. Route the belt to the clutch pulley and install.
3. Check to be sure there are no twist in the belt and the
belt routing is correct.
4. Tighten the Outer Nut to apply tension to the Belt Ten-
sioner Idler Pulley.
5. Before re-installing the foot plate the newly installed
belt tension should be adjusted.

Adjusting the Mower Deck Belt

6. To adjust the belt tension, the spring should measure
seven (7") inches from the ends of loops, as shown in
the illustration. This is achieved by turning the Adjust-
ing Nuts on the Tension Rod against the Bracket.
5. When desired belt tension is achieved, tighten the two
nuts against the bracket.
6. Re-Install the outer belt shields and foot plate.
